Pakistan’s Test team captain, Shan Masood, expressed his delight after winning the Test series against England, saying it was a long-awaited victory. Speaking at a press conference, he credited the success to the people of Pakistan and emphasized that if people are still criticizing after the win, it is truly disappointing.

Shan Masood remarked that cricket is a team game, and individual performances are secondary to contributing to the team’s success. He praised the performances of Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique, calling them the future of Pakistan cricket, and stressed that consistency in team selection is crucial for nurturing players.

The captain added that whether the Test match ends in a single day or not doesn’t matter, as long as Pakistan wins. He said it’s always painful when Pakistan loses. He also spoke of the pride and responsibility that comes with leading the national team, noting that England is no small team and conditions always need to be considered when strategizing.

Shan also highlighted the performances of spinners Sajid Khan and Nauman Ali, whose excellent bowling played a crucial role in the team’s victory.

It’s worth noting that Pakistan defeated England by 9 wickets in the Rawalpindi Test, sealing the three-match series 2-0. This is Pakistan’s first home Test series victory in nearly three and a half years.

Pakistan off-spinner Sajid Khan, reflecting on his remarkable performance in the Rawalpindi Test, jokingly said that his facial expressions scare people, even when he smiles. Sajid, who was named “Player of the Series” for his outstanding bowling, took 19 wickets during the series, while Nauman Ali claimed 20.

Speaking after the match, Sajid humorously said that it wasn’t his fault if people found him intimidating; it was just the way he looked. He added that this win was crucial for the Pakistani public, and he recalled that captain Shan Masood had said there would be a special satisfaction in winning after losing the toss.

Sajid also acknowledged the contributions of both senior and junior players to Pakistan’s success, highlighting that everyone plays for the nation.

Nauman Ali: Overjoyed With Victory Against England

On the other hand, spinner Nauman Ali expressed his happiness over the victory against England. He said that Pakistan needed spinners like Mushtaq Ahmed and Saqlain Mushtaq but emphasized the importance of playing red-ball cricket to develop new talent.

These statements underline the pivotal role of Pakistan’s spinners, whose exceptional performances led to a memorable series win against England in the Rawalpindi Test.
