Pakistan’s Test team captain, Shan Masood, expressed his delight after winning the Test series against England, saying it was a long-awaited victory. Speaking at a press conference, he credited the success to the people of Pakistan and emphasized that if people are still criticizing after the win, it is truly disappointing.
Shan Masood remarked that cricket is a team game, and individual performances are secondary to contributing to the team’s success. He praised the performances of Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique, calling them the future of Pakistan cricket, and stressed that consistency in team selection is crucial for nurturing players.
The captain added that whether the Test match ends in a single day or not doesn’t matter, as long as Pakistan wins. He said it’s always painful when Pakistan loses. He also spoke of the pride and responsibility that comes with leading the national team, noting that England is no small team and conditions always need to be considered when strategizing.
Shan also highlighted the performances of spinners Sajid Khan and Nauman Ali, whose excellent bowling played a crucial role in the team’s victory.
It’s worth noting that Pakistan defeated England by 9 wickets in the Rawalpindi Test, sealing the three-match series 2-0. This is Pakistan’s first home Test series victory in nearly three and a half years.
