Pakistan’s young hockey player, Sufyan Khan, has won the Rising Star Award from the International Hockey Federation.
The annual awards ceremony took place in Muscat, the capital of Oman, where top hockey players from around the world were honored, and Sufyan Khan was recognized with this prestigious award.
Sufyan Khan has quickly risen to prominence as one of Pakistan’s most promising young hockey talents, boasting an impressive record of 24 goals in just 48 matches at such an early stage of his career. His exceptional goal-scoring ability and sharp attacking instincts have been evident in several high-profile tournaments, including the FIH Hockey Nations Cup, the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2024, and the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers. During these events, Khan consistently delivered critical goals that played a vital role in elevating Pakistan’s performance on the international hockey scene.
His standout performance at the Hero Asian Champions Trophy in Moqi, China, 2024, underscored his immense potential, as his crucial goals were instrumental in propelling Pakistan further into the competition. As Pakistan strives to rebuild its rich hockey heritage, Sufyan Khan has become a key figure, demonstrating maturity and composure well beyond his years, especially in pressure-packed situations.
